Our Story
How we got here
- 1994 & 1995Two beginnings, worlds apartLong before they ever meet, Vanessa is born in Mannheim, and a year later Kevin arrives all the way across the world in Chunan, South Korea. Two very different starts to the same story.
- Growing upOceans between themVanessa grows up in the little wine village of Leimersheim. Kevin's childhood criss-crosses the globe, from Hong Kong and Beijing to Shanghai and Wisconsin. All those miles, quietly leading to the same place.
- StudiesA shared love of sportSport pulls them the same way, right down to the same brand. Vanessa earns her Bachelor's in Dortmund, then joins adidas in Herzogenaurach; Kevin studies in Tilburg and interns with adidas in Bangkok. Same passion, same logo, and still no idea the other exists.
- CologneWhere their paths crossBoth land in Cologne for a Master's in Sports Management at the German Sport University, and quickly become good friends, each busy living their own life. (It doesn't stay just friends for long.)
- The sparkThe first kissOne party in Cologne, one kiss, and the whole “just friends” thing goes happily out the window.
- HamburgProfessional journeyThey both move to Hamburg for different jobs. Kevin joins Sportfive, Vanessa joins Jung von Matt Sports. Not official yet, but already spending all their time together.
- Key relationship milestonesRelationship officialRight before Kevin moves to Manchester with Sportfive, they make it official. They spend a year long distance, he moves back to Hamburg in 2021, and in 2023 they move in together.
- The Proposal6 December 2025After all those miles and years, Kevin gets down on one knee. She says yes. 💍
- The Wedding12 June 2027And that's where you come in. We can't wait to celebrate with you at Morrhof.
